Mosaicking.
invisibly stitching digital images together

Photomosaics have long been a means for viewing large areas in photographic form. Digital mosaicking techniques overcome the problems associated with traditional photomosaics by removing image and terrain distortions, and automating the process.

Productivity Tools:
Geomatica Productivity Tools package includes a set of functions that improve image processing efficiency using automation and batch-oriented functions.

Stereo Viewing.
seeing is believing

Take advantage of the stereoscopic vision and editing features built into OrthoEngine. 3D viewing provides a naturally intuitive environment for interpreting images and editing data - especially DEMs using the OrthoEngine stereo cursor.

3D Stereo:
Geomatica's 3D Stereo package is an add-on to Airphoto Models, Satellite Models, High-Resolution Models, and Generic and RPC Models. 3D Stereo offers advanced tools for 3D viewing and 3D feature extraction of stereo airphotos, digital camera frames, ASTER, IKONOS, IRS, SPOT, or SAR imagery. Additional features include 3D editing of DEM data, and extraction of elevation points or contours from a DEM.

Orthorectification.
          preparing imagery for accuracy

Orthorectification converts imagery into map-like form by accurately removing all camera and terrain related distortions from the triangulated imagery. The resulting orthoimages can be directly applied in GIS or mapping applications such as: land use and land cover classification, terrain analysis, natural resource mapping, image backdrops for maps, temporal change analysis, multi-image fusion and image-map fusion.

Geomatica 10 Orthorectification Models

Airphoto Models:
OrthoEngine Airphoto models package an efficient triangulation method for generating precise orthophotos from scanned or digital camera aerial photographs.

Satellite Models:
OrthoEngine Satellite Models package contains specialty sensor math models for generating precise orthoimages from a wide range of optical and radar imagery, correcting for distortions caused by the satellite position, earth terrain, curvature, and the cartographic projection.

Supported sensors include:

LANDSAT

SPOT

IRS

ASTER

JERS

RADARSAT

AVHRR

ERS

ENVISAT

·
High Resolution Models:
OrthoEngine High Resolution Models package contains specialty sensor math models for generating precise orthoimages from the new generation of high-resolution satellites, correcting for distortions caused by the satellite position, earth terrain, curvature, and the cartographic projection.

Supported sensors include:

QUICKBIRD

IKONOS

SPOT 5

EROS

CartoSAT

·
Generic and RPC Models:
OrthoEngine Generic and RPC Models is a powerful orthorectification tool. Utilize the Generic Satellite Model for new or unsupported satellites or the RPC Model, which uses the rational polynomial to generate precise orthoimages, correcting for distortions caused by the satellite position, earth terrain, curvature, and the cartographic projection.

Digital elevation model extraction.
          adding 3D to your applications

DEM extraction is the process whereby imagery is exploited for 3D points that characterize a terrain surface. The resulting DEM can be directly applied in your GIS or mapping applications such as: 3D Fly-throughs, mission planning, perspective scene viewing and analysis, drainage and watershed analysis, contour generation, slope and aspect calculation, shaded relief analysis, intervisibility analysis, and of course, orthorectification of imagery.

Geomatica 10 DEM Extraction

Automatic DEM Extraction:
OrthoEngine Automatic DEM Extraction is an add-on to Airphoto Models, Satellite Models, High-Resolution Models, and Generic and RPC Models. This module features the automatic extraction of Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) from stereo airphotos and selected satellite sensors.

Radar DEM Extraction:
OrthoEngine Radar DEM Extraction is an add-on to the Satellite Models module. This features the automatic extraction of Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) from stereo RADARSAT or ASAR images.
